Fannaaaaaaaed!

Last 2 weeks have been horrendous with regards to watching movie in India. First it was Da Vinci Code and now Fanna. For Da Vinci Code it was said that as citizens they have freedom to raise their voice if they find something inapt - its their democratic right. Now Fanna is banned in Gujrat - reason - Aamir Khan raised his voice during the Narmada Dam issue against BJP. Is'nt Aamir a citizen of India? Or just because he is a celebrity he does'nt have the freedom of speech?

I have always detested Narendra Modi and his atrocious policies. World recognises India as the biggest democratic setup, which I am proud of, but suddenly I have realised that it is no longer a democracy. Its more of despotism in a democratic setup. Leaders are becoming dictators rather than representatives elected by the people and for the people.

I am not residing in Gujrat, but tomorrow it may happen at my place, if a prominent personality goes against the government. I believe that like me there are many who want to watch Fanna (afterall its an Aamir movie and Kajol is acting after a long time) in Gujrat. I mean who is Narendra Modi or for that matter BJP to ban the movie? Who gave them the rights to ban a movie because of personal animosity?

I have the feeling that its the failure of democracy, when a common man like me does'nt have the right to watch a movie, because the dictator is against it. One of my friend says that India will be a failed country by 2025, could'nt agree more with him. I think 2025 is a long way to go, with the leaders like Narendra Modi, Arjun Singh, Laloo, etc - list is endless, India will be a failed setup by 2015.

I agree that a movie should be regarded as a movie. Aamir has every right to speakout. If modi feels he can file case against Amir.

Two issues i have noticed.

Banning of da Vinci didn't evoke a big protest as Fanaa?

Fanaa doesn't belong to Aamir, for that matter no movie belong to Heroes... The next time someone bans a movie, let him/her think of thousands of souls involved in producing the movie

@Tushar - He dint murder the Muslims only, he indirectly murdered lots of Hindus who were killed by the victims. So much of communal fight still going in Gujrat are the consequences of the seeds sown by Modi. Real Gulshan Grover(Bad Man) of politics.

Excuse me!

The problem is with us, atleast to a certain extent

Whenever a moslem is being killed there used to be a headline -- Muslims attacked and also for schedule caste/tribe. SC Woman stripped/beaten so on.. do we really need the caste/religion prefix?

This adds to the communal tension and thats what Modi and others are using to thier benefit.

@Sundar - You are absolutely right, why is caste/religion becoming the identity of a person in a country so called as secular. I think in coming years general hindus will be minorites and the country will be taken over by SC/ST/OBC/Minorities.

@prat u r right..but see the case with kashmir..there..hindus are less in number, but they are never considered as minorities...at the same time when the bomb blast occured in varanasi..none of the political leaders went there to digest the situation, but in the case of masjid bomb blast in Delhi manmohan approched there with free medical treatmentand exgratia..why not so with those of varanasites..Why so love towards them??
